Murilo Benício Ribeiro (born July 13, 1972, in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Brazilian actor, best known for his film roles in Woman On Top with Penélope Cruz and Amores Possíveis which won the Jury Award for Latin American Cinema at the Sundance Film Festival, and his television roles in O Clone and América.

Career

Benicio's television roles include the popular telenovelas O Clone[1] and América, both which have aired in his native Brazil, the United States, Russia and in various countries in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. More recently he starred in O Homem do Ano (2003) (Man of the Year).

Benício has a son named Antônio with actress Alessandra Negrini and a son named Pietro with actress Giovanna Antonelli. He is quoted for saying that Charlie Chaplin inspired him as a young boy to be an actor. His favorite author is Miguel de Cervantes.
